Adelaida
The rain has been so heavy, we thought the canals would flood and ruin the houses, but today, it finally stopped. The water is drawing back and the sun is out. The crops were planted weeks ago and with the extra water, I think we will have an amazing harvest. There is so much to be thankful for.
Lázaro has been working on his new hat and I made him a new tunic. The colors are lovely. It sounds like we will have a celebration to thank the rains and he will be able to wear his lovely new clothes. Our crops seem to be growing better than many around us and we are very thankful.
I’m very lucky in this life. Many of my friends aren’t as lucky. The way Lázaro looks at me melts my heart and I pity those that don’t have the kind of love we do.
Standing out in the sunshine after all that rain, it’s hard not to smile. It’s hard to pretend my life isn’t great. I can’t imagine how things could be any better for me. For us.
